Music Challenge

I just love this time of year in Florida! The sun is warm, there is a cool breeze, and there are birds everywhere just singing there hearts out!

I have really been enjoying all the challenges lately. They really stretch you and give you a creative workout! The Way to Use it Challenge last week was to use music as your inspiration. It could be words from a song, or whatever you wanted. I had this set of Music from Sparkle n Sprinkle and and have been wanting to use. I used some glitter lace background that I had made a week ago and had been laying on my desk. I love it when things fall together like this. I had in mind that I would use the glitter paper for a patriotic card, but didn't know how I wanted to use it. When I was looking at the music stamps I thought it would go well with this challenge.

For the lace glitter background take a piece of sticker paper and place a piece of lace on top of it and brayer it so it is stuck real good. Sprinkle it with glitter, I used Silver Dreams, and shake off the excess and brayer it. Slowly pull off the lace, then you can sprinkle a second color glitter on parts, using a small spoon carefully sprinkle Sunny Daze glitter over the stars, quickly turn the paper over and dump excess. Then cover the entire piece with a third glitter, I used Black Ice here, and shake off the excess. Brayer good and you are finished. You have a beautiful glitter background!

This is a 5" square card, for the card base I used Stardreams Light Colors cardstock, from Sparkle n Sprinkle, it is very heavy and I really like it for a good sturdy base. I used the Silver, all 20 colors are rich and shimmery. The nice think about these card stocks is that at Sparkle n Sprinkle they have made embossing powders to match all these wonderful shimmery colors.

I embossed the guitars with black embossing powders and layered on Basic Black, placing a red rhinestone on the guitar. I also layered the glitter layer on Basic Black. The rest is pretty simple.
