Here is my card for Sparkle N Sprinkle's Birthday!! I love this Birds stamp set, the birds have started migrating back for the winter and they are outside my window singing to me every morning. I decided to use the Splitcoast Try a New Technique and Sketch challenge and the Wednesday Tutorial for my card. The technique was Wet Paper Stamping, but of course I took it a step further, after stamping the image on wet watercolor paper instead of just stamping with ink I stamped with Versamark and embossed it with Log Cabin Embossing Powder. Then I decided to use the faux brad technique that was featured on Splitcoast by our own designer Julie Warner. I embossed all the brads with Jack O' Lantern Embossing Powder. The base of the card is Old Olive, and the designer paper is some from DCWV. The ribbon is some I recycled from a gift I got last year, and I tied the button on with copper cording.
For the inside of my card I cut another 1" strip of the designer paper and layered it on Mocha and adhered it to a piece of vanilla. The sentiment is from our new Happy Birthday stamp set and I embossed it with Log Cabin as well.
